Paintings “Inspired by Books”

January 11, 2011

The Center for the Arts is now displaying the work of artist Alice Domineske on Evesham Library’s adult reading area wall. These paintings were inspired by book quotations. The titles of the books with the quotations are listed on a label under each painting.

About the Artist:

Alice Domineske, a retired librarian, has been interested in painting and drawing since she attended children’s art classes at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Museum. While she was raising her family, she attended Drexel University where she received her degree in Library/Information Science. After working several years as a librarian at Shawnee High School, Medford, NJ, she resumed her interest in art by attending evening and summer classes at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She also has attended many local and national art workshops led by well known artists.

Her paintings have been accepted at numerous juried exhibitions and have been purchased by Smithville Historical Association, Rutgers University in Camden, Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and Chairville School.

To purchase any of the displayed works, contact The Center for the Arts in Marlton, NJ at 856-985-1009.

All displays for the Evesham Library adult reading area wall are chosen by The Center for the Arts in Southern New Jersey.
