New blog web address

July 30, 2012

Evesham Library’s blog can now be found at the main BCLS webpage under the Locations menu at www.bcls.lib.nj.us/evesham. You will find updates for Evesham news and programs there.

This space is no longer maintained but will be left up as the archive for the old blog.

Information pertaining to the Evesham branch such as local school summer reading lists, Miss Holly’s Story Time books, extra kids program pictures, Katheryn’s library ebook & eaudiobook guides, and Mr. Kajaria’s foreign film list can now be found stored on Evesham’s Weebly pages for your convenience.

Museum Passes at Evesham!

June 25, 2012

Burlington County Library System’s Museum Pass Program has arrived at the Evesham branch! Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Evesham Library, four shiny new museum passes now live at our branch.

A pass may be checked out for a duration of 4 days and if the pass is checked in, you may call ahead and have it set aside for you for up to an hour. The Museum Pass Program page on the main BCLS website explains how the pass borrowing process works, but please feel free to ask us about it directly!

The passes we have to offer are:

  • Academy of Natural Sciences – 1 pass
  • Garden State Discovery Museum – 2 passes
  • Grounds for Sculpture – 1 pass

Registration requested.

Getting a Kindle, Nook or iPad for the Holidays?

December 20, 2011

Then you can checkout library ebooks from the BCLS website with the Overdrive service and your library card! If you need a little help, we have a number of resources to teach you how.

Linked to this blog on the right side of the page under “Downloads” are two class handout guides that you can save to your computer or print out on paper. One is for the Kindle and Kindle Apps and the other is for everything else, including the Nook.

Evesham Library also offers full 90 minute classes on how to get and use our ebooks. There will be a class for Library Books for Kindle on Thursday, January 5th at 6:30 pm and a class for Library Ebooks & Eaudiobooks w/Overdrive (good for any device that is NOT the Kindle such as the Nook or an MP3 player) on Wednesday, February 8th at 10:30 am.

IPad/iPhone and Android users would benefit from either or both classes, as there are apps for both Kindle and Overdrive Media Console.

If you have any questions or would like to find out more about our classes, please give us a call at 856-983-1444.

Thank you, Miss Brodsky’s Class!

December 5, 2011

We would like to give a great big THANK YOU to the students of Miss Brodsky’s class at Y.A.L.E. School North for the lovely bookmarks they donated to the patrons and staff of Evesham Library.

Miss Brodsky’s students worked very hard crafting these attractive and sturdy bookmarks, many of which display uplifting and inspiring quotations about reading. Some are even illustrated!

So next time you visit, please take a turn around the Youth Services Reference desk and pick out a nice bookmark that speaks to you!

Show us your stuff!

July 5, 2011

Do you have cool stuff you’d love to share with the world? Well we would love to help you do just that. Evesham Library has three glass display cases for you to show off your hobbies, collections or crafts. Scheduling for next year has just begun, so we invite you to call the library at 856-983-1444 with your reservation requests. Displays are typically hosted for an entire month.

The first and largest case is out in the main lobby of the Township building across from the police window just as you enter through the automatic glass doors. This lighted case is 45 inches high, 90 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

The second, medium-sized case is located just inside the entrance of the library when you first walk in and is also lighted. This case is 57 inches high, 44 inches wide and 15 inches deep.

The last and smallest case in located behind the Adult Reference desk, facing the comfy reading area. This case is 33 inches high, 48 inches wide and 15 inches deep.
